3's and 4's Teachers
Sonia Avny, commonly known as Morah Sonia, is blessed with two very special children and the most beautiful granddaughter, in her own words. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working at Gan Yeladim for 19 years. Sonia also works for the Friendship Circle at Chabad of Stamford. Her first job in Stamford was at Sara Walker preschool for three years and after that at Bi-Cultural Day School. She has also taught Hebrew school at Temple Sinai for many years and led Groups Saturday mornings at Agudath Shalom. Originally Sonia was born in Romania and at the age of 10 moved with her family to Israel, where she lived for 17 years before coming to Stamford.
Peshy Raitport is joining us for her first year at Gan Yeladim. She is originally from Johannesburg, South
Africa where she grew up in a warm
Chabad family with strong Jewish values.
Outside of Gan she enjoys spending time with her family, learning Chassidic texts and getting her energy out with CrossFit’s vigorous activities.
She spent one year studying in Machon Shoshana Seminary in Jerusalem and one year teaching young adults in Melbourne Austrailia.
Patrizia Dallemule, has been teaching preschool for the past seven years and is excited to join the Gan this year! Before coming to the Gan, Morah Patrizia taught in Darien and more recently at the New Canaan Nature Center. She lives is Darien with her husband, daugher, son and their English bulldog.
Morah Patrizia was born and raised in Brazil where she studied law and worked as a State attorney before coming to the U.S. to get a Master's Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University. She worked in the field of market research for a while and later on began to volunteer at her children's preschools. That is when she fell in love with the preschool years and decided to go back to school to get her certification in Early Childhood Education.
She enjoys cooking and baking and has briefly worked as a cake decorator when her children were little. She also loves to travel and has travelled to some very interesting places.
Danielle Schrag is excited to be in her eighth year of teaching in the full day program at Gan. She became a teacher at the Gan at the age of seventeen, starting out teaching in the afternoon program and as an aide for children with special needs. Danielle has teaching certificates from both Norwalk Community College and Charter Oak College and is currently working toward BA in Child Psychology. She continues to dedicate herself to learning more about the philosophy and teaching methods of Reggio Emilia and how to incorporate them into her classroom.
Belana Warmflash has been working as a teacher on and off for eight years. She is from Georgia (the country) and moved to the California when she was 6 years old. Morah Belana has three children, 2 currently in Gan and 1 that graduated from Gan and now at BCHA. She enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family. Morah Belana has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in social work.
